About us

MODZ's Founder, Ms. Salla Koski, is originally a licensed physiotherapist. Her frustration with patients not being motivated to do prescribed exercises or administer necessary self-care led to her studying industrial design with the focus on user-friendly interfaces. Combining the two disciplines, Salla created a user-friendly blood glucose meter for juveniles - Dr. Skull (he is a very friendly skull, mind you). During the user testing of Dr. Skull, something remarkable happened: a little girl participating in the test group came to Salla and hugged her tightly. "Thank you", she said. "I used to be ashamed of measuring my blood sugar in front of my friends. Now everybody wants to get their of Dr. Skull." At that moment, Salla and her group knew they were on the right track. Founded in 2009, MODZ continues the development of products like Dr. Skull that make lives of juvenile diabetics and other sufferers of chronic conditions better and more enjoyable.

SALLA KOSKI, DIRECTOR DESIGN AND R&D

Salla is a specialist in health technology usability. At MODZ she is responsible for concept & design innovation management and R&D. Salla has cross-functional work experience as an industrial designer, physiotherapist, and ergonomics designer. Salla's experience has shown her the importance of a holistic understanding of how the human body and mind work. Salla believes that motivating the users is the key thing in creating better future self-care products. By working with MODZ Salla aims to create new products from the end-user perspective: with her the MODZ R&D department does not stay in the lab: it is out there in the schools, work places and retirement homes.

Mikko is specialist in industrial electronics and biomedical engineering. At MODZ he is responsible for technology design & development. Mikko's previous work has included R&D of smart clothing and wearable electronics. He also has experience of entrepreneurship, doing hardware and software design of embedded devices.

Mikko believes that in the future more and more of our healthcare needs will be met with new services and applications, used in our own homes, schools and workplaces. By working with MODZ he hopes to be a significant part of this development.

Pietari is an experienced entrepreneur and a specialist in marketing & sales as well as financing new ventures in the technology sector. He has a solid track-record of co-founding and exiting several successful start-ups. At MODZ Pietari is responsible of company's daily operations and all the sales & partnership activities.

Pietari doesn't believe in any quick cures to our times' worst health-related problems. He thinks that the answer is in the small choices we make everyday: whether to take the lift or the stairs, to snack a fruit or a chocolate bar, to make sure to always have a good treatment balance etc. MODZ is here to help people to make the right choices and to keep them in a good health!

LAATUINSINÖÖRI / LOPPUTYÖN TEKIJÄ

MODZ Oy hakee opintojensa loppuvaiheessa olevaa tai juuri valmistunutta insinööriä laadunvalvonta- ja testaustehtäviin. Tarjoamme mahdollisuutta osa-aikaiseen työskentelyyn ja/tai lopputyösi liittämistä osaksi toimenkuvaasi yrityksessämme. Tehtäviisi kuuluvat sertifioidun ISO 13485 -laatujärjestelmämme kehittämis- ja ylläpitotehtävät, auditoinnit sekä projektien riskinhallinta. Lisäksi vastaat tilastollisten laadunvalvonta työkalujen käyttöönotosta ja kehittämisestä tuotannossamme. Myös mittavälineiden hallinnointi kuuluu vastuualueeseesi.

ODOTAMME

Odotamme hakijoilta teknistä koulutusta (DI/Ins. AMK), mielellään muutaman vuoden työkokemusta vastaavista tehtävistä, laatujärjestelmien ja sertifikaattien tuntemusta, osaamista laadunhallinnan menetelmistä ja toimintatavoista, erinomaista suomen ja englannin kielen suullista ja kirjallista taitoa, hyviä vuorovaikutustaitoja sekä itsenäistä ja aktiivista työskentelyotetta. Edellytämme hakijalta laatujärjestelmien ja tilastollisten laadunvalvontamenetelmien tuntemusta. Aiempi kokemus terveysteknologian alalta on eduksi.

TARJOAMME

Joustavat työajat (mahdollisuus osa-aikatyöhön opintojen viimeistelyn ohessa) sekä mahdollisuuden kehittyä kovan luokan laatupäälliköksi kovaa kasvavassa ja nuorekkaassa meditech-yrityksessä.

MODZ Oy on vuonna 2009 perustettu terveysteknologia-alan yritys. Kehitämme käyttäjäystävällisiä omahoitotuotteita mm. lapsille ja nuorille, joilla on tyypin 1 tai 2 diabetes.
